Bill Syme

Bill always knew he wanted to be a farmer.  He grew up in a farming family, participating in 4H and FFA. He got his B.S. degree in Horticulture and his M.S. degree in Agronomy from the University of Connecticut.  He is the brains behind our Christmas trees and willingly heads up all of the big jobs on the farm requiring machinery. He works off the farm as Manager of our local Crop Production Services.  He volunteers his time with Tolland County Farm Bureau, Hartford County 4H as a 4H Club Leader and Quiz Bowl Coach and also sits on our local Board of Finance and Agricultural Commission.

Jennifer Syme

Jennifer Syme also grew up in a farming family and participated in 4H in her youth.  She received her B.S. in Horticulture from the University of Connecticut.  She puts her degree to use in her position as head grower of Syme Family Farm, growing all the greenhouse plants, cut flowers and potted plants. She is the face that you will see at Farmers markets and our Cut Flower CSA.  Growing is her passion, but raising chickens is a close second!  She is also a 4H Club leader and busy mom.

Becca Syme

Becca has always shown more interest in the animals, rather than the plants, although she does help her father in the Christmas Trees. She feeds and cares for the cows and flock of laying hens. She is in Hartford County 4H where she has poultry, beef and dairy 4H projects.  She enjoys showing her animals at local fairs.

Emily Syme

Emily enjoys working with both the plants and animals on the farm. She is a huge help in the greenhouse and cut flower aspect of the farm. She is very active in 4H and FFA. She is one of the faces that you will see every Saturday at the South Windsor Farmers Market. For the past few years Emily has had great success in raising Giant Pumpkins.  Her largest was 669 lbs in 2015!
