Christmas Tree Season 2020

This years Christmas Tree season will look different from years past and we are asking for your understanding and patience. Both your family's safety and our farm family's safety is our first priority.

We will be following all local, CDC and Ct Department of Agriculture guidelines. Our Covid-19 Plan includes the following:

*Follow signage and directions and please listen to our farm employees/parking attendants.

*Masks/Face Coverings are Mandatory and will be worn at all times, even outside on the tree hill.

*Maintain Social Distancing, our trees are planted 6 feet apart, you should be too!

*Barn Occupancy is limited to 25 people at a time, please be patient.

*Please bring as small a group as possible when visiting.

*Please visit only when you are healthy. If you have a fever, are showing any Covid-19 symptoms or have been exposed to someone who tested positive, please stay home.

*Hand Saws and commonly touched areas will be sanitized after every use and Hand Sanitizer will be available.

Additional Tree Information

*We offer Cut-Your-Own Balsam and Canaan Firs as well as Connecticut Grown pre-cut Firs. Cut-Your-Own trees are $55.00 (tax inlcuded) and Pre-Cut Trees will range from $50-$70 depending on height.

*Opening Weekend is Friday November 27th thru Sunday November 29th from 9:00 am-4:00 pm. We will also be open the following weekend Friday December 4th-6th from 9:00 am-4:00 pm.

*Hand saws are provided. Chainsaws are not allowed per insurance requirements.

*Parking is available in our parking lot, please obey the parking attendant.

*Portable restroom is available on premises.

*Tree baling is available, string is provided to tie your tree onto your vehicle.

*Leashed, well-behaved dogs are allowed. Please come prepared to clean up after them.

*Wear appropriate footwear.  Keep in mind that this is a working farm with uneven ground and can be muddy depending on the weather.

*Bring a tarp to transport your tree down the hill after choosing and harvesting.  This simple idea is a game-changer!

*Your tree will be VERY THIRSTY for the first few weeks, DO NOT LET your tree run out of water! When you get your tree home, make a fresh one inch cut off the bottom and place in a sturdy stand that holds at least a gallon of water. Check the water level in your tree stand twice daily at first. If the tree butt dries out, resin will form over the cut end and the tree will not be able to absorb water and will dry out quickly.

*Tree pre-tagging is not allowed.

*Commercial Photographers are not allowed for liability reasons.

*Our two Christmas Calves, Charlotte and Harmony, will be on display for kids to visit in the barn.  Please keep your visit brief as we can only have a set number of guests in the barn at one time.

*Kids are encouraged to bring their Letters to Santa and mail them here! We won't be offering the table and chairs for kids to sit down and write their letter this year.

*As a safety precaution, we will not be offering Hot Cocoa and Popcorn like we have in the past, due to Covid-19.

*Consider donating to the Power Pack program of East Windsor by donating snack items, juice boxes, easy Mac or other microwave meals. This program provides weekend food for kids here in town who need it!

*Gift Items available for sale will include Syme Family Farm t-shirts, Ct Made Soy candles, Fudge and goats milk soap, CT Grown honey, maple syrup and much more!

We look forward to your visit and appreciate your patience and understanding this year!

Merry Christmas from The Syme Family
